Videos, audio tapes, software, anything. I took three years of French in high school, but these courses move so slow and use so little actual speaking that I feel like I know a bunch of vocabulary but not necessarily how to put it together properly. I’m eager to learn so I can visit France.

There is a program called French In Action that can be found at http://www.learner.org or you can check to see if your local library has it.
Here are a couple of podcasts that I like that are good: Coffee Break French (CBF) and Katia and Kylie Mac Learn French; the first of these (CBF) starts out with some pretty basic stuff but moves on to more advanced stuff and they tell you how to put things together. The Katia and Kylie Mac Learn French one teaches you French idioms that are used in France today.
Get some French music and listen to it. I would also recommend watching movies that you like dubbed in French if they have a French language track.
And if you can find someone to speak French with, that would be a great way to build your speaking and understanding ability. Good luck!
