One issue is that Rosetta Stone uses the immersion method, where you don&#039;t memorize word lists and verb forms or anything like that; you&#039;re shown pictures of things and actions, and are given the French with no translation.  For someone wanting to speak the language, it&#039;s probably a quicker way to learn things, but it may be tough to pass a test where they may drill you on all the forms of a verb in different tenses.

But, how much does it cost to take an AP test?  Compare that to the cost of a college course - it&#039;s probably worth trying.</description>
