I really want to learn French. I have heard of things like Rocket French and Rosetta Stone. Do these work? Or can you tell me what does work? Thank you.

The "best" way is to go live somewhere where they SPEAK French. Whatever method you choose, it will take lots and lots of practice.

Rosetta stone is a brill way of keeping up with the french you already know ^^ I'm on sharedtalk.com to improve my japanese with that! But I think if you're a beginner, then it's not where you should be starting. The best place to start is always with a textbook or CD lessons (or a real teacher if you can find one) – and then to help you get used to pronunciation and listening to french, french music and films are a good thing as well! Hope this helps and good luck!
